OUR PROJECTS

Learn a little bit more about our motivation and our work

Health Promotion Workshops

Our mission is to provide support and education to families who have previously been denied access to consistent health support and information. Our focus on health education allows families to act with autonomy in an informed way to protect their health and that of their community.

First Aid and General Wellness

Our primary workshop offering - this two hour session includes information for the benefit of the entire family with instruction on CPR, seizures, cancers, nutrition, skin conditions, vaccines and more.

Healthy Parenting

A new program that was created in response to requests from the community, this workshop offers information on common childhood illnesses, how parents can intervene, as well as positive parenting techniques and practices for parents to best support their children's psychosocial development.

Women’s Health

Offered as a safe learning environment for local women, this workshop tackles disinformation surrounding women’s health, myths and stigmas, cancer screening, menstrual health, puberty and more.

Psychosocial Support

Meeting with small targeted groups over a period of six weeks, this program, led by our licensed social worker, aims to confront social concerns by supporting and informing vulnerable populations about topics such as violence, child protection, emotional distress, and teen development.

Supply distribution

In order to support hygienic living conditions and the dignity of families, we have opened a hygiene free shop that is open to every family in our local area, both refugee and host communities are welcome. In this shop, families are given the ability to decide what they want to take home, replacing the traditional distribution model of families waiting in line for identical pre-packed bags. People choose from shelves filled with more than 30 different products including cleaning supplies, hygiene products, accessories, and more. These items are often the first to be skipped when a family is struggling financially, but are vital to ensure proper hygiene, wellness, and quality of life.

Advocacy

Utilizing our platforms on social networks, as well as published articles, and appearances in international media, our team works to advocate for the respect of refugee rights and condemns current international practices that put refugees' lives in danger. Through our advocacy we hope to build an international community that recognizes the importance of providing dignified and sustainable aid, and providing a humane, and secure passage to safety for all.

What our students have to say …

“Maybe the things we learn here will save a life. Maybe a child in the community has something urgent and we can help them after learning first aid.”
- Khadija, 32
“The distribution of materials is so important to us, as the situation in Lebanon gets worse, I find that I sometimes cannot afford to buy bread, let alone detergents or soaps to keep my home clean and family healthy.”
- Amina, 26
“I gained correct information because we have a lot of misconceptions like applying toothpaste to burns and coffee to wounds, but now I know that is not the correct way”.
- Haja, 37
